I have really enjoyed researching Michelle Dorrance over these past couple of weeks. I have learned a lot about her and have been inspired as a tapper myself to continue to push my training. I hope that one day I can take class with Michelle because this research has made such a strong impact on me. Not only is she an amazing tapper, but she is a strong, female role model for young inspired tappers like myself. How she runs her own company and all of the accomplishments she's had, wanting to stay true to herself and the roots of tap. I love how Michelle always wants to pay tribute to those she's learned from and who inspires her.

One thing that Michell has taught me thorough this research is that there are not limits. You shouldn't set boundaries on what can and can not be done in a dance, especially tap. One thing that I really admire about Michelle is how she is always pushing the limits of tap and what people expect of tap dancing. That's one thing I plan to keep with me and always keep in mind when choreographing, not to stick to normal, strive to be different.

If I had a chance to sit down with Michelle, there are so many things I think I'd wan to talk to her about. But if I had to pick a couple questions, I would first want to ask her who her biggest tap inspiration is today? Also, where she gets most of her inspiration from when creating dances? What does she recommend for someone like to improv on my tap skills. And finally I'd ask her what her biggest dance goal in life is?
I know that this won't be the end of my research on Michelle Dorrance. Like I said before, I'd love to take a class with her and see her perform live. Luckily with social media today, I plan to keep up with her company and hope she'll be local to teach class soon.
